Session 010 - The Route Below

The party rescued Celia and the other two missing miners from the Upper Works. The miners had hidden when the raiders swept through; they were not prisoners. One miner had a badly crushed leg, but the group got the survivors stable and sent them back toward Waymark along the chalk-marked route.

Their cache held two healing potions, a spell scroll of dancing lights, and a blue crystal with Resonant properties. At the destroyed lift, a frightened voice seemed to drift from place to place as the mine shifted. The shaft had been sabotaged and collapsed, but the party recovered a self-repairing Rope of Mending from the wreckage.

The deeper route briefly opened into a cold cavern that should not have been connected to the mine. The party defeated the gricks and darkmantles that came through, then cleared a raider barracks and staging ground. There they recovered another healing potion and 100 gp in valuables.

A map in the barracks showed prisoners farther ahead, followed by a larger headquarters. After a short rest, the party prepared to move toward the prisoner area.
